MIDI MADNESS!

I believe that ladies should dress like ladies and that we shouldn't all be trying to wear dresses fit for streetwalking.  Unfortunately, shops that specialize in affordable fashion tend to leave nothing to the imagination when it comes to dresses.  THANK GOD the MIDI is making a comeback!  And just in time for fall!  The Midi is brilliant because it flatters almost EVERY shape, it doesn't hinder your ability to sit in a chair, and it makes you feel like a LADY.  Here are 10 of my favorites (Cheap AND Chic!)

1.  Forever 21 Maxi Dot Dress - so damn cute!  It works with or without a belt, tights, and jacket.  You can do virtually anything with this dress and you will look fancy

  2.  Forever 21 Abstract Animal Dress - well Muffy when is tea time?  Yes I'd like two lumps and perhaps later we can take a walk through the gardens.  I am obsessed with this dress. It makes me want to take tea and summer in Nantucket.

 3.  Zara Double Fabric Dress - Va Va Voom!  This dress has total Mad Men Joanie sex appeal.  Tight in all the right places and in classic, flattering black.  Add a red shoe and your man friend will be on his knees.

4.  Top Shop Short Sleeve Midi - So flattering, the color is divine, and you can dress this up or down.  Plus the price is pretty awesome for such an incredibly made garment.  I can see my friend and fellow cast mate Hannah Shankman wearing this with a giant canary yellow platform shoe and some crazy feather earrings.

 5.  Top Shop Parrot Palm Midi - This is straight up 70's Copacabana decadence.  This would look great for fall with a floppy hat, platforms, an arm full of gold bangles, and some crazy big sunglasses.  Hot.

6.  ASOS Oasis Star Print Midi - I am mostly obsessed with this because Karl Lagerfeld made a similar dress for Chanel.  With a price tag not NEARLY as staggering, you can get this gorgeous dress and pretend like you just dropped $3500 on a dress.  You will still look like a million bucks.  I love it with tights and platforms but it would look fetching with a slingback peep-toe as well.

7.  ASOS Fit and Flare Midi - Caliente!  This is a perfect night-out-for-dinner-and-dancing dress.  It's swingy, feminine and the color is to die for.  It would look divine with either gold or silver jewelry.  Obsessed.

8.  Modcloth Classic Bash Midi - So ladylike.  Extra credit for wearing old school stockings and a garter belt underneath.  Meow

9.  Anthropologie Dromedary Dress - I mean, it has CAMELS on it!  I love this ridiculous dress!!!  Plus there are special shoulder cut-outs.  And a swingy skirt.  And CAMELS!  I cant...It's so good it makes me laugh.

10.  Juicy Couture Veiled Sequins Dress - This reminds me of Zelda Fitzgerald for some reason.  I am obsessed with the soft color, the lovely sequins, and the generous straps.  It's a classy dame that wears this dress!  Booze and jazz.  Love.
