5 Key Pieces: Hotel Bath-time Edition

Living in hotel room after hotel room can start to make you feel weary, homesick, and stressed.  One thing I have learned to help me with this is taking advantage of THE BATHTUB!  You can turn just about any hotel bathroom into a luxurious spa oasis.  Here are 5 essentials for melting the stress away:

1.  BUBBLE BATH:  A wonderfully scented, SUPER bubbly formula will give you a tub full of sudsy movie-style bubbles a la Pretty Woman.  My favorite is Burt's Bees Baby Bee Bubble Bath.  This bubble bath is technically for babies but it smells heavenly, leaves your skin super soft and provides MOUNTAINS of bubbles.

2.  CANDLES: Setting a few well placed travel candles in your bathroom can make it feel like the spa at the Mandarin Oriental even if you are staying at a Sheraton.  My favorite travel candles are by Henri Bendel (the fig makes me swoon).  They smell AMAZING, come in every scent you can imagine, and are housed in their own little retro travel tin.

3.  FACIAL MASK:  Lying in the tub is a great way to treat your skin.  The steam opens your pores and allows for a great deep cleansing mask or an ultra moisturizing mask.  Just spread it on, lie back and relax.  Here are two of my faves:
Bliss Triple Oxygen Mask - This mask is BEYOND.  Not only does it foam and bubble on your face like champagne but it leaves you looking like you just spent a week in a spa.  I use it once a week and the results are EPIC.

Montagne Jeunesse Dark Chocolate Mud Mask - Decadent, smells good enough to eat, and super affordable.  The Montagne Jeunesse masks come in a one - time use package and are incredible.  This is my favorite for extracting dirt and grime - perfect after a long travel day or a hectic two-show day!

4.  HAIR TURBAN: Lying in the bath with a hair turban on is a wonderful way to feel glamourous and luxurious.  I know it seems a tad Little Edie but I assure you it's worth it.  Wrapping your hair in one of these not only keeps your hair dry and out of the way of all those bubbles, but it can also double as a mini steam room if you are deep conditioning during your bath!  My favorite is from Sephora but you can find several affordable versions at Kohl's, and Ulta!

5.  Post Bath Oil:  What's the point of taking a long, hot bath if you aren't going to reap the benefits?  I recommend a light body oil after the bath to seal in moisture and leave your skin smelling amazing and feeling super supple.  My favorite is Johnson and Johnson Lavender Baby Oil Gel.  The smell is subtle and amazing, plus Lavender is proven to help you feel sleepy!  I love the gel oil because it's super easy to apply.

Another epic post-bath oil is by Neutrogena.  Their sesame oil is so luxurious you can't help but feel pampered and spoiled.

There you have it - my ideal bath time essentials!  Enjoy!
