TIPS AND TRICKS: THANKSGIVING CHIC

We are fast approaching my FAVORITE time of year for adorable party dresses, fancy new accessories and chic new make up!  One of my favorite things to do is get dressed in a comfy - chic outfit and have a big Thanksgiving day feast with my family.  I know it's tempting to wear pajama pants and a t shirt to the Thanksgiving table, but try to refrain.  Thanksgiving is a time for feasting and fun and a great excuse to wear fall's most fashionable, cozy offerings.  Here is my guide to Thanksgiving Day Dressing (mmmm dressing).

LOOK 1 - FLOWY DRESSES, TIGHTS, BOOTIES

Wearing a flowy dress and tights to the big feast is great for several reasons:
1.  You will be comfortable and look super chic
2.  Once you have had that last bite of pumpkin pie - you can let your belly relax without looking like you are bulging out of your spanx!

Here are a few of my favorites:

FLOWY DRESSES:

1.  French Connection 40's Tea Dress - the print and cut are so chic and adorable.  Plus there is room for that second piece of pie!

2.  Top Shop Feather Floral Pleated Dress - I adore the print and the sheer sleeves - plus the belt adds just enough definition (not too much - and you can take it off when it's time for a siesta on the couch post dinner!)

3.  Mod Cloth Early Reservations Dress - The sheer, peachy color flatters almost everyone and I DIE for the polka dots.  BONUS: it has a cinched ELASTIC waist - I'm not trying to feel like a sausage in my dress after dinner!

EXCELLENT TIGHTS:

1. Hue Brushed Sweater Tights - Thick and cozy, they keep your legs warm AND they go with anything.  The price is fantastic, too!
2.  DKNY Sweater Rib Tights - So chic, cozy and warm PLUS they have a special ribbed design!  Love these.

3.  Spanx Tight End Reversible Tights - Spanx are a classic - they suck you in, make your ass look great and with these you get two for the price of one - they are reversible!  Bonus!

SEXY BOOTIES:

1.  Madison Harding Wedge Booties at Shop Bop - Sturdy platform, sleek design, and they go with just about anything.  Obsessed.
2.  Sam Edelman Zoe Platform Wedge Bootie - These add just enough of a tough edge to the sweet, flowy dresses above.  Super sexy and comfortable.  I adore these!

3.  Steve Madden Carnby Bootie - I just bought these at the Nordstrom Half Yearly in black and I ADORE them.  These are so fantastic and make you feel like a 50 ft tall glamazon!  Beyond.
LOOK 2: TUNICS, LEGGINGS, TALL BOOTS

This is a great look for dinner because it is super comfy (Leggings, hello) and very ladylike.  I adore the way tall boots and leggings look together.  Plus you can take off the boots later in the evening and still look super chic in bare feet!  Bonus!

TUNICS:
1. Mod Cloth Stay Tunic - This adorable, grecian inspired tunic is sweet and sexy.  It would look BEYOND with some liquid leggings or black jeggings.
2.  Shop Bop Tucker Tunic - I LOVE the print and the flirty bell sleeves - so ladylike and comfy.  Obsessed with this.

3.  Asos Spot Embellishment Tunic - You know I adore anything with polka dots and this is no exception - I die for the sheer flowy drape and the bright white dots.  This would look adorable with thick black leggings and knee - high boots.  Love.

LEGGINGS:

1.  So Low Skinny Jean Leggings at ShopBop.com - these look like the best skinny jeans but are comfy and stretchy like leggings.  The perfect base for an amazing tunic!

2.  David Lerner High Waist Leggings at Shopbop.com - these are sturdy, thick, and the high waist eliminates Thanksgiving feast muffin top.  So cute!

3.  Trouve "Ottoman" Seamed Leggings at Nordstrom - These are super cute because of the fancy seams down the leg - it gives them a little old school flare.  BONUS: the material is thick and pant-like so you won't be giving a Thanksgiving day peep show!

TALL BOOTS:

1.  Prepie Tan Paris Boot - I love a scrunchy boot and this one has a little heel to elongate your leg.  So cute!
2.  Denver Chocolate High Leg Buckle Boots – I obvi love these because they are named after my home town!  Plus the color is rich and gorgeous and I am obsessed with the hardware.  Love.

 3.   Bakers Bradford Boot - LOVE a wedge boot.  These are supple and super comfortable plus the rich color is a great neutral!

EXTRA CREDIT:
Accessories make an outfit and for a Thanksgiving day feast I like accessories that are clean, easy and double as something else (a cozy scarf = a throw for an after dinner nap!)  Here are some of my faves:

1.  Chelsea Reversible Silk Wrap - So cozy AND it's two for the price of one!  This would look stunning wrapped around your shoulders at the dinner table and even better thrown across your legs for a nap by the fireplace!

2.  Cashmere Wrap from Banana Republic - I mean... It's red.  It's Cashmere.  I die over this luxurious scarf.

3.  Forever 21 Stackable Love Ring - a well placed piece of jewelry is all one needs to complete an outfit - my favorite are rings!  These go with anything and are super cheap!
4.  Top Shop "R" Initial Gold Ring - I adore anything with my initials on it - this is no exception - so chunky and chic with a hint of guido fabulousness.  Love.
 5.  Asos Leopard Head Wrap - this looks ultra fabulous AND keeps your ears warm when you step outside to play in the leaves!

There you go!  My Thanksgiving feast essentials!
Have a very happy Turkey Day!!
